I love exploring all the different kid friendly activities and places around where I live in Hertfordshire and I’ve decided now that Aria is more aware to start going to all those places and finding out what they have to offer and letting you know how we get on!

We recently visited Standalone Farm in Letchworth Garden City! It’s a great little farm not far from where I live with lots of classic farm yard animals like sheep and pigs, cute little animals like rabbits and chinchillas all the way to alpacas.

I would class it as a great first farm to take small children. There is lots to do there and is a perfect morning or afternoon out!

We explored all it had to offer the only problem being we picked a rubbish weather day and didn’t stay as long as I would have liked!

We started our day by visiting the cafe where I had the most amazing gluten free dairy free cake and hot chocolate! I also wouldn’t say it was too over priced like some cafes can be which is always a bonus when going out for the day!

We then set out to explore what the farm had to offer! They have a board with set timings going on through out the day:

– Cow Milking
– Pony Grooming
– Tractor Rides

These are great to time your day around so you get to experience them all!

Aria loved looking at all the animals that the farm had to offer and she took a real shine to the big turkey that was there. Even tho she is still small she is so fascinated by animals and the noises they make!

We did plan to have a picnic while there but for us and a baby the weather was just too bad! With that being said they have a great in door picnic barn so you can bring your own food and still stay dry! This for me is a massive plus as I love taking picnics to family days out, it’s all part of the fun!

The farm also has a huge park suitable for all ages of children which is a great way to end the trip before heading home!

8/10 – great FIRST farm

comments: it’s a must visit if in the area, friendly cafe, lots of animals to see and a great indoor picnic area for them rainy days. Also not over priced! £7.00 per adult and under twos are free! We will definitely be back in the future and will hopefully eat our picnic there this time!

If you visit let me know how you get on and what your thoughts are 👌🏻
